This policy explains what personal data Mythag (“we”, “us”) collects, why, and what choices you have. Mythag is operated by Mythag, BSR City, Building Y, Floor 3, Petah Tikva 4951041, Israel (“the operator”), which is the data controller for the purposes of applicable data protection laws, including the EU/UK GDPR.

1. What we collect

• Email address: when you subscribe to our daily email.
• Subscription records: the date and time you subscribed and confirmed, the page you subscribed from, and your IP address at the time, so we can prove consent.
• Email engagement: whether our emails are delivered, opened or clicked. Our email provider collects this through standard tracking pixels and links.
• Voting data: when you vote on a story we store a short-lived, anonymous record (based on a hashed IP address and your browser’s local storage) so each person’s vote counts once.
• Technical data: browser type, device, pages visited and approximate location, collected through server logs and, if enabled, analytics tools.
• Messages you send us: your email and whatever you choose to include.

We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive personal information.

3. Email and how to unsubscribe

We use double opt-in: after you subscribe, we send a confirmation email, and you’re only added once you click the link. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and using it removes you right away. We may remove subscribers who haven’t opened any email for a long time.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Mythag, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France): email delivery and subscriber management.
• Hostinger: website hosting.
• Google (Analytics / AdSense): site analytics and advertising, if enabled.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use local storage to remember your votes. If analytics or advertising is enabled, those partners may set their own cookies to measure visits and show relevant ads. Where the law requires it, we’ll ask for your consent first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the EU and the US. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long we keep data

• Subscriber data: while you’re subscribed, then up to 30 days after you unsubscribe. We keep a minimal suppression record so you’re never emailed again.
• Consent records: as long as needed to prove consent.
• Messages: up to 24 months.
• Server logs: up to 90 days.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect anything done before. To make a request, email hello@mythag.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CCPA/CPRA, except through ad partners if advertising is enabled. You can opt out by emailing us.

9. Children

Mythag is not directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we’ll delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we’ll tell subscribers by email.
